We’re thrilled to offer dog daycare in a clean, safe environment and would love to have your pup join us for all-day play.
Dog daycare offers numerous benefits for dogs. It provides much-need mental, physical, and social stimulation while helping dogs learn good manners and burn off excess energy. It prevents boredom, too, and may make your canine companion less susceptible to destructive behavior and separation anxiety at home. At Bark Hotel for Dogs, we’re thrilled to offer dog daycare in McKinney in a clean, safe environment and would love to have your pup join us for all-day play.
Our daycare is disinfected daily and fully staffed by trained staff who provide constant supervision. In addition to a 24,000-square-foot outdoor play area, we have dedicated climate-controlled rooms. Your dog will get to enjoy playground equipment, toys, games, and more while in our care. We even have a water play area, which is available seasonally.
We require written proof of the following vaccinations for all daycare guests:
You will need to provide proof of current vaccinations before we can welcome your canine companion into our pack.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate dogs with aggressive behavior toward other dogs or humans or traits that could put our other guests and staff at risk. In most cases, dogs’ behavior improves with group play. However, some dogs display increased aggression or inappropriate behavior after participating in daycare for some time as a result of outside and genetic factors. If your dog cannot safely interact with other dogs or our staff, they will require individual playtime. Our mission is to ensure that everyone—human and canine—stays safe and has fun at Bark Hotel for Dogs.
We strive to be as flexible as possible and meet the needs of all types of dogs and any special requests. Your dog can hang out in a more reserved area where they can get as much or as little group play as they would like, then they can have some downtime to relax and recuperate. We can also schedule naps or lunch breaks upon request.
As descendants of wolves, dogs are natural pack animals. When in a group, they will instinctively find their place. This may be an ongoing process, but most dogs quickly find pack members of the same rank and play with them. It might take a few days for them to feel fully comfortable, but you’d be amazed at how shy dogs often blossom and become one of the most playful ones.
Humping is an expression of dominance. The pack has a natural order to it, and some dogs are born Alphas (pack leaders). It is natural for these dogs to show they are the leader of the pack, and they often do this by humping.
Dogs express displeasure by growling or snapping without actually biting. Our staff is trained to recognize the signs of dominance and curtail unwanted aggression. As long as your dog does not become overly aggressive and pose a threat to other dogs or our employees, they are appropriate for daycare.
When dogs play, they use their paws and mouths, and like wolves, their play mimics fighting or wrestling. In rare instances, play goes too far, and a dog may get bitten or scratched. Think of it like a child’s playground. Sometimes, kids who play too hard end up with cuts and bruises. The same is true for dogs in daycare. Rest assured, however, that we take the safety of the dogs in our care seriously and take all precautions to avoid injuries.
We are constantly observing your dog’s overall health while they are in our care. If your dog is injured or becomes ill while with us, we will treat them on-site immediately. If necessary, we will transport them to a local veterinarian for further care. Our staff is trained in pet first aid, and our facility maintains a fully stocked dog first aid kit. If we feel veterinary care is appropriate, we will always attempt to contact you first. However, we will not delay the transportation to a veterinarian if we feel care is needed urgently. Your dog’s health and safety are always our top priorities.
Always!
We thoroughly clean several times daily, both indoors and out. We also spot-clean as necessary. Blankets, beds, and cots are always kept clean, and toys are disinfected daily using dog-safe products.
